Excellent quality bowl shaped red edible swallow / swiflet birds nest, usually known as red blood birds nest. Perfect as a unique gift, special occasion and personal consumption.

Red bird nest is highly desired in many parts of the world owing to its rarity. While it is not as soft as a white swiftlet’s bird nest, this is compensated for by its thick body. Adding to the reason for its high demand is its rarity, as harvest time is once or twice a year.

Contrary to popular belief, the nests’ reddish color is NOT obtained from the blood of a swiftlet. Red edible birds nest is a natural process caused by the environmental factors, usually by vapors generated from sodium nitrite or from ‘bird soil’ in hot and humid conditions.

Recommended Cooking Instructions:

1. soak time = 2-3 hours
2. cook time = 15 minutes

Important note:

• We only supply high quality “House” nests, no cave nests are sold by Premium Nest Australia.
• Our natural bird’s nest is hand-picked without using any chemicals or bleach, so it can’t be 100% clean and will have a small amount of fine hair.
• Each product is vacuum sealed for freshness purposes. During this process, some oxygen is removed from the packaging to preserve the quality. This can cause a sulphur or “eggy” smell when opened which is normal smell for vacuum sealed natural birds nest.
